Edit, sign and redact a PDF on your Mac without uploading it
Contracts, invoices, tax forms: the documents you most need to edit are the ones you least want to send to a stranger's server. Many online PDF tools require exactly that. An offline editor such as WyzePDF does the work on your own Mac, and nothing leaves it.
Sign a document
Open the PDF, choose the signature tool and create your signature in one of three ways: draw it, type it in a handwriting font or import an image. Signatures are remembered, so next time it takes one click. This is an image of your signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. If your legal context requires the latter, you will need a different tool.
Fill in a form
Click into text fields, tick checkboxes, pick radio buttons and drop-down options, then save. Forms of the rare XFA type are not supported.
Fix a typo
Click the existing text and type the replacement. WyzePDF detects the size, font, colour and background so the fix blends into the page. One honest note: the original text is covered with the background colour and the new text is written on top, like correction fluid. It is not a paragraph reflow like in Acrobat, and on a gradient or photo background the cover can show.
Annotate
Highlight, underline and strike through with native annotations that also appear in Preview and Acrobat. Add notes, shapes, arrows, freehand drawings and images.
Redact what must stay private
Black out a name, an amount or an address with redaction. It is permanent: the affected pages are converted to images so the hidden content cannot be recovered. The trade-off is that the text on those pages can no longer be selected. A black rectangle drawn with the ordinary shape tool does not remove anything, so use Redact for sensitive information.
Protect the result
Add a password with AES-256 encryption and set permissions.
What it does not do
There is no OCR, so it cannot read scanned pages. There are no certificate-based signatures, no file comparison and no PDF/A.
